wne paris - connect to nuclear - POSTPONE

Save the Date !

Next June, WNE is back: Join the nuclear civil community from June 23rd to 25th 2020! WNE is THE premier event for the civil nuclear market, bringing together executives, top-level decision-makers & buyers in one place to do business. With nearly 700 worldwide exhibitors, 22,000 participants from 62 different countries, WNE is definitely the place to be!

Réservé: New:
the WNE Fellow Award!
Gérard Kottmann, Honorary President of WNE

Gérard Kottmann

After years of downtalking, amid an unprecedented concern over climate change, nuclear energy starts to enjoy again growing public recognition of its advantages. Opponents to the nuclear industry still communicate actively, but the undeniable reality of the global warming and the absolute need to decarbonise our planet make nuclear energy more and more indispensable. The message that a low carbon society cannot be achieved without the nuclear industry as a key partner - our theme for WNE 2020 -, slowly gets through.

Worldwide, top scientists, politicians, economists, journalists, professors, members of institutional bodies…put forward objective facts & figures to showcase the integration of nuclear energy in the energy mix. Their contribution is essential to convince the populations and the decision makers to come back to a more positive and rational opinion.

WNE decided to honor these members of the civil society by creating the WNE FELLOW AWARD. The selection of the entrants will spread over the second half of 2019. An international Jury will then nominate the winner. The Jury will be headed by
M. Bernard BIGOT, CEO of ITER. Prominent members of the Jury at this date include
Mrs Marie-Alice HAYWARD (Deputy General Director of the IAEA), Dr BASU (former Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission and Secretary to the Government of India),
M. Bill MAGWOOD (General Director of the NUCLEAR ENERGY AGENCY of the OECD), M. ZHENG DONGSHAN (Senior VPof CGN), M. Jean-Bernard LEVY (President of EDF), M. François JACQ (Chairman of the CEA).

The Award will be remitted at a special event the night before the opening of WNE 2020, on June 22nd 2020. A great evening of networking in perspective (by invitation only) with the presence of the world leaders of our industry. The Award Winner will speak also at the opening ceremony of WNE on Tuesday 23rd 2020 at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center.

Introducing a new prestigious Award, enhancing highly appreciated existing concepts (speaking opportunities, workshops, guided tours…), attracting ever more world-class visitors & exhibitors… the 4th edition of WNE has the ambition to continuously boost its leading position as THE marketplace dedicated to the global civil nuclear community. More to come in the next newsletters!

Réservé: Global Nuclear business: the 2 major axis' of WNE in a nutshell…
Céline Cudelou, Secretary General of WNE

Céline Cudelou

I participated to the WNE steering committee since its creation in 2013, and I can tell you that we did a lot of brainstorming over all these years. Our aim was how to structure WNE in order to develop successfully business and partnerships between nuclear companies from all over the world. The key figures of WNE 2018 demonstrate that we are on the right track to create THE event that was really missing up to now for the global nuclear industry.

Increasing its business orientation and expanding the global reach to the world actors, are the two priorities of my mission as the new secretary general of WNE. To do so, Gerard Kottmann and I take the time to discuss with you, to listen to your expectations, understand your needs and make your WNE 2020 experience an even better one. The day after the closing of the last WNE, we immediately started the preparation of the next edition. We already met our Finnish, Chinese, Korean and Turkish exhibitors. At the beginning of June, we toured Canada and the USA. In the second half of the year, we will encounter our English, Belgian, Indian, Russian and many other prospects. WNE 2020 will be a melting pot of decision makers covering the whole value chain: from fuel to dismantling, from reactor components to SMRs, from maintenance to radioprotection, and so many more fields of expertise!

As it is my first time as a WNE ambassador, I would like to share with you a common remark from everybody we met: WNE is the place to be. Do not miss the next edition taking place at Paris Nord Villepinte from June 23rd to 25th 2020! See you there.
